Product Questions

I’m new to Vivderma products, what should I start with?
We’d always suggest people start with our skincare range before building up into Skin Clinic and Skin Rehab. Our hero product is Comforting Gellee Cleanser, and that is a great place to start. It’s honey-like texture feels sticky when first applied to a wet face, but after contact with water it turns into a milky liquid that washes straight off.

 Do you send out samples?
This is something we’re working on and hope to be able to offer in the near future. Keep checking our site regularly and follow us on social media to keep updated.

 Are Vivderma products animal tested?
No, Vivderma does not test on animals, not now, not ever.

Are Vivderma products suitable for vegans?
Yes, all of our products are suitable for vegans.

Do Vivderma products contain gluten?
No, all of our products are gluten free.

Are your products suitable for nut allergy sufferers?
We try our hardest to cater for all our clients’ needs, that’s why we can assure you that all of our products contain no traces of nuts at all.

Once opened, how long do Vivderma products last?
Each products varies, but the expiration date is stated on the bottle, and is usually around 12 months.

 Where are Vivderma’s products made?
We proudly make all of our products in the UK.

Can I use Vivderma products while pregnant?
The majority of our products are safe to use whilst pregnant, the only product we would advise you avoid is the Cellular Recovery System due to the concentrate of Retinol.

What products do I need for a basic and effective skincare routine?
We would recommend a basic routine that includes a cleanser, toner, serum and moisturiser. If you have any specific concerns, then you can look to treat this with additional products. It’s important you always incorporate an SPF into your skincare regime.

Should I moisturise before or after using sunscreen?
Sunscreen should always be the last thing you apply.

What products are best to combat fine lines and wrinkles?
Sculpting Neck and Chest Cream, Cellular Recovery System, De-Ageing Eye Cream, Smoothing Serum, Contouring Serum and Restoring Skin Moisturiser.

How to use - Cleansers, Toners and Moisturisers

· Cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day - once in the morning before you put on makeup, and once at night before you go to bed. This will give your skin a chance to heal and breathe overnight rather than being clogged by dirt or make up. It's easiest to do this when in the shower as it makes rinsing easier, but if you are only washing your face, here's how to do it:

· First, wash your hands so you won't be transferring bacteria to your face.

· Wet your skin with warm water to open up your pores. Apply the cleanser and massage it into your skin in upwards, circular motions. Some products will work best if you leave it for a minute or so to allow it to dissolve dirt and makeup, and to let it get deep into your pores. During this time, continue to gently rub the cleanser in.

· Then remove, either with damp cotton pads, using a sponge, or by splashing with warm water, gently wiping until all the cleanser is removed. Never leave any cleanser on your face, as this encourages irritation, spots and imperfections.

· Finish off by rinsing your skin with cold water to close up the pores and prevent dirt getting back into them, and therefore preventing blemishes. It will also leave you looking more fresh faced, and less red.

· Dry your face gently by dabbing it with a clean towel or paper towels.

· A few minutes after cleansing, tone your face with toner with a cotton pad. Toner is used to restore your skin's natural pH levels which were probably altered during cleansing. By restoring your skin to its natural pH, you also make it more resistant against bacteria and micro-organisms. Use the toner that suit your skin type. It's most essential with people who have an oily skin type. Here's how to use it.

· Apply a small amount of toner to a cotton pad and simply wipe over your entire face, but being careful to avoid the sensitive eye area.

· Do not rinse off.

· So after cleansing and toning you should moisturise with a face moisturiser for your skin type. This step cannot be avoided, even if you have an oily skin type. It's especially important for those with dry skin. There are loads of moisturiser products to choose from, such as gels (best for oily/spot prone skin), creams (best for dry/sensitive skin) and serums (best for normal/oily skin). All Vivderma moisturiser products provide anti-blemish, and anti-wrinkle activities.

· When the toner is dried, apply a small blob of moisturiser, gently massaging in a circular motion into your face and neck.

· If you haven't applied enough moisturiser and your skin still feels a little tight, then apply a bit more. If you apply too much and it feels too oily, then gently blot with some tissue.

For most individuals it is optimum to perform this routine twice daily. For maximum skin care benefits, the basic routine is usually insufficient, in those over thirty. Simply by adding a product or two containing (anti-ageing / antioxidant) with wisely chosen and scientifically proven active ingredients can further improve the desired results. The best time to apply active products is right after you have washed/cleansed your face, when your skin is clean, warm and slightly moist, wait a few minutes for the active product to absorb, and then apply your favourite moisturiser over.

Important techniques to reduce premature skin ageing

· UV-Light from the sun or tanning beds is the biggest contributor to premature skin ageing, blotchy pigmentation and skin cancer. Avoid or limit sun exposure between 10am and 4pm and completely avoid sunbeds for tanning purposes. We recommend that you wear protective clothing when outdoors, and be sure to use sunscreen of SPF30 or above on a daily basis. If necessary sunscreen can be used even indoors as UVA rays can penetrate glass windows.

 · Don’t smoke: As burning cigarettes and the repetitive facial expressions that smokers make during smoking both damage the facial skin and contributes to wrinkles around the mouth and eyes.

· Stop or reduce alcohol: As alcohol makes your skin dehydrated leaving the skin looking old and tired. Instead have a healthy balanced diet and drink plenty of water.

· Get enough sleep and sleep on your back/face up, this will minimize the stretching effect of gravity on your skin.

· Limit bath time and don’t wash your skin aggressively, .Hot water and frequent long showers or baths remove oils from your skin. Limit your bath or shower time, and use warm rather than hot water.

· Exercise regularly as it keeps you fit and healthy this will translate directly to your skin too, furthermore the better circulation as a result of exercise also provides you with a natural glow to your skin.
